Charlie Olson was Chief of Police in Ashland, Massachusetts from 1931-34, State Representative from 1934-1941, and State Senator from 1941-1965. Charlie was known for his witty remarks. He was a champion goat milker. He often lived in his open-air hut. He supported equal rights for women and environmental issues. . When criticized for siding with Democrats on some issues, he stated "One must be either a Republican or Democrat on the ballot, but that does not mean that after he takes office, a legislator must represent only a narrow partisan viewpoint." He and his brother died as the result of an automobile accident in 1967.
Cliff Wilson is an artist from Ashland, Massachusetts. His works include historic and current views of Ashland, whimsical works, vintage cars, and views of beauty as he sees it.
