Artist's Description
To some it was just a nice path in the woods. To others it was a pathway to history. This was one of my earliest paintings. I knew that the old trail was going to be lost. The local school needed a new sports center for football and soccer and softball. This ancient trail that once led the Native Americans and our Puritan forefathers from Boston to Hartford succumbed to the present at the cost of the past. This particular section was at the confluence of the Old Mendon Trail and the Old Connecticut Path in Ashland, MA.
